January 17th, 2013 - Patience

Yes... I was trying to cut my half husband's hair and this accident happened... I stet laughing and laughing because I was nervous about what I did... For 10 seconds he was really upset but then he was totally ok and didn't get mad at me... That is because I have a really nice half husband... That made me really Happy! Then we tried to fix and the final result was:

Lol... Not perfect but at least I tried...:)

January 15th, 2014 - Typical food

"Portuguese Food" Google Search

 "American Food" Google Search

Curiously, today three different people asked me about Portuguese Food, what is typical there and the difference compared to the American. I don't know if it's because I'm in US for almost a year or if it's because when I was in Portugal it was something so normal that I didn't even pay attention but it's getting complicated to explain the different type of food, dishes and traditions. Some things I don't even know the name so to help me out I decided to Google Search on both type of foods... The pictures above are the results and the results really made me Happy not only because of all the nice images but also because of the reaction of those people that immediately said "OOOOHhhh yes, it's totally different". Once again my country made me "shine" and be proud again.

Not that I don't like a nice burger or a pizza once in a while, I'm not trying to criticize anything it's just a matter of traditions and I would love if everybody would get the chance to try all the different foods from the different countries. We would find so many flavors and colors...

January 14th, 2014 - Making fun of my Lovely Mom

I will probably regret of having a picture like that on the internet but it made me laugh so hard! My Mom always hated sporting cloths and I inherited that from her... But today I posted this picture on facebook and said that from now on I'm going to dress like the picture on Sundays because I want to be comfortable and support a soccer team...
I'm so curious to see her reaction tomorrow... I know it sounds really stupid but being so far from her and missing her so much makes me want to "play" with her!
Ridiculously, when I was posting the picture I was jumping and laughing on this corny clothes... If there was a video it would be hilarious... Lol

We'll see the reaction tomorrow...

And you, what made you happy today?

January 12th, 2014 - Patriotism

Today was a really Happy day for me. My half husband and I decided to go to Philadelphia to watch a really important soccer game that was happening in Portugal between the two biggest teams - Benfica and Porto (Pedro supports Benfica).
I wasn't as excited as he was about it because I like soccer but not like him.. We decided to go to Philly because there is an official Casa do Benfica (Benfica's House) and they were transmitting the game there, also, as I wrote a few days ago, a very important guy from soccer passed away last weekend and there would be a tribute during the game.
When we arrived there, it was a small establishment but full of nice people, they really made me feel at home... They were proud of us because we drove from DC to Philly only to watch the game and they treated us like "kings", the environment was great and the food made me feel that I was at home (Portugal). The lunch, Feijoada a Transmontana, was really similar to what I used to eat at my grandmother's every Sunday, the deserts smelled like Christmas, the one on the right top (Chocolate Mousse) was delicious, the one on the bottom left reminded me of my Mom, she used to bake those Suspiros a lot when I was in Portugal... Everything made me feel really well, really nostalgic... There were moments that I realized that I was smiling without a reason..
People were great, they offered us a scarf with the symbol of the team and the Bell from Philadelphia  to thank us for going from DC (left bottom), they insisted a lot for us to go back again, one of the nicest persons there gave us the contacts and offered us his house so that we go more times.
I was really not expecting to like it that much...
I was even happy about listening to people saying "bad words" during the game...

Even that I feel great in US I'm proud of being Portuguese, I'm proud of our people... They really made me Happy and I have to thank them for that! I really miss my country and I can't stop imagine going there this year!

And, you...

What made you Happy today?
